excavator import market: ranked by import volume, the top three excavator brands entering India in 2024 are
Kubota, Hitachi, and Yanmar from Japan, accounting for nearly 50% of the total imports. But in terms of import value ranking, the top three are
Volvo, Sany, and Hitachi, accounting for over 50% of the total import value. Overall, the Japanese brand excavators imported into India are mostly small equipment with lower unit prices, with the main models including Kubota U30-6, Hitachi ZX33U series, and Yangma VIO30-7. In contrast, imported models from Volvo and Sany mainly consist of large equipment (such as Volvo EC550EL and Sany SY870H) with higher unit prices. The Volvo excavators imported from India mainly come from its South Korean production base.
